Question: I did heroin the day before yesterday and slept at 6:30 yesterday morning and woke up at 3pm yesterday afternoon and my right foot was completely asleep and I couldn't walk on it at all. as the day goes by I figured it would go away and it tingled all day and tightened up and felt heavy walking up the stairs so I had to slow down and lift my leg up and walking fast paced is hard be
cause it feels heavy. not its 2:46 and around 3pm when I woke up yesterday I smoked a gram of meth between three people. my foot just wouldn't wake up so I figured that would wake me up but it tingled allday and now its tingling still a little but tightens up like a XXXXXXX horse every now and then. I have work at seven can it wait til three this afternoon. what's going on with my foot. does the math and heroin.have anything to do with it and did the math make it worse? because my dad said j don't go to the doctor for a foot that's asleep but he doesn't know about the drugs at all

Brief Answer:
Nerve injury/Neurological examination

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

What you are having in your foot is a probable peripheral nerve injury due to the pressure(which you probably had, lying in the same position for long).
I suggest you to visit a neurologist at the earliest and get yourself physically examined by him.You will have to probably undergo 'Nerve conduction studies' in lower limbs,to establish the diagnosis.
Please be prompt as early treatment means better recovery in this case.

If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up.

I went to a local hospital that didn't have a neurologist so they couldn't do much but examine it and do a test to see how strong it was and he said he'd just diagnose me with neurapraxia but should I just go to the bigger hospital and see a neurologist ASAP instead of waiting on a actual neurologist appointment my primary doctor could set me up with.

Brief Answer:
Short course steroids/Nerve conduction studies.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

If your foot symptoms are persisting till now,you should get 'Nerve conduction studies' to see for the evidence of peripheral nerve injury(This study may come normal in initial 48 hours of nerve injury, though).

I'll say that its preferable if you get examined by a neurologist. If it is a nerve palsy clinically,as examined by a neurologist, you need to be on short course steroids therapy along with anti-neuralgics,for recovery.

So,if possible,please visit a neurologist.
If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review as your rating will be of help to me.
