Detailed Answer:
Hi Mr XXXXXXX

Thank you for your query.

I have read and analyzed your query. The close possible conclusion that I can come up with based on what you describe is that this is scalp infection. Body clears infection via lymph node system. It is very common to find enlarge lymph node in neck secondary to infection in scalp. In medical term we call it as reactive lymphedinitis. You feel pain, swelling, fever and difficultly in neck movement.

Before I comment further I would like to see pictures of the affected area (scalp) and the lump so as to confirm my possibility. Also I would like know which medicines you are taking right now for scalp infection. So I can advise you precisely.
