What Causes Pain And Swelling In The Foot?

Question: Hell9, I just sprained my foot during a fall today, went to an urgent care facility, had x-rays to rule out a fracture as well. Pain and swelling was severe...the gave me a shot of a pain med that started with a "T" I can't remember the name of it. Any ideas?? I'm still in a lot of pain and want to take a muscle relaxer to sleep....not sure if 8 should. Please advise.

I have gone through your question and i understand your concern.

Probably they gave you Tramadol shots -an opioid pain medication .
The X-ray show that you have an excesive os naviculace , osteoarthritis that explain the beunion you have.
Did the doctor give any prescribed medication to use home ?
You should take some painkilles : Ibuprofen , naproxen..
A sprain is a damaged ligament and muscles relaxant will not do to much .
In a case of a severe sprain a MRI is needed for a full evaluation.
Meanwhile keep following the advices rest your feet , limit the movement , use ice the first day .
