What Causes Pain Around Ribs While On Treatment For Helicobacter Pylori Infection?

Question: Hi

I took anti-biotics from h.pylori and still feel disconfort on my left rib. Do i need a second dose? I had a colonscopy as well and spincter was tight. Still feel pain when passing stool, and the stool takes long to pass

4. Had a small bowel resection 12 months ago and ever since was struggling when passing stool with a burning sensation so thought it was hemrroid etc.

Hi,
The left rib pain is not due to H.pylori infection. So you do not need a second dose of anti H.pylori.
Tight sphincter and pain while passing stool could be due to anal fissures.
High fiber diet, plenty of fluids, stool softeners sitz bath and topical application of anovate would provide good relief.
in sitz bath you need to sit in a tub of warm water with your anus exposed to it for 5-10 minutes.

Hi,
By left rib pain I presume you mean left side chest pain.
Some of the causes include GERD, respiratory infection, heart related issues and musculoskeletal.

I believe xray chest was normal which rules out respiratory causes.
Kindly get a ECG done if not done already.
You can take Nexium and Dolo-650 for relief. Nexium is a prescription drug.

Ok after i have a stool that is painful, my stomach tends to be tender for a while amd bloated. This has been the case ever since my small bowel resection however it doesnt happen all the time.

No stool analysis, initially there was weight loss.

I think 30cm.

In one of the earlier posts I have discussed about the possible causes of your left sided chest pain.

Since you have had small bowel resection and weight loss, malabsorption should also be ruled out. Malabsorption can cause abdominal bloating.

You can consult your gastroenterologist for tests for malabsorption.

Is the chest disconfort suppose to last this long? Its worse when i sit down and in that position. Chest as in my ribs btw. Some of my stool floot as well. Like quarter of it, the rest sink, does tgat mean anything?
