What Causes Pain In Both Sides Of Spine After An Injury?

My name is XXXXXXX .
I was having ride on a 'Bike', my bike went from a 'PIT' & certainly I felt a serious pain in my spine. (Muscle spasm). It pains in both sides of spine in upper & middle back. And both sides of back(right & left).
It happened because of bad roads of INDIA
Now it's about 18 days I visited our family physician, he gave me some medicines & a pain relief lotion. Even now i can't do any single easy movement like twisting,
& all the gym exercises, can't even get on & get off the bike, bend forward or backward, getting off from the chair, get off the cloths & so on........
My whole back is paining now. It doesn't allows to stretch also. When I try; my back pains very badly. I tried, but cant do even a single push up,. I've took acupressure treatments also. I've took Ice & Heat application for 5 times, My doctor gave me ''Diclogel Pain Relief Lotion''
Still it is feeling like a hell sir. Whenever i do any movement, I feel something is sliping close by spine (a small muscle tissue) while i'm relaxing on a chair or while a sleep & then it feels serious pains in my whole back except my lower back & the problem is raising.
It feels like a chronic pains.
I'm Gym loving person. When it happened...I was on rest days (Saturday & Sunday) & I couldn't go to a Gym for about 20 days...
Please suggest any remedy.........
Physiotherapy along with muscle relaxant may help
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing your query
After going through your suffering, my advice for you would be-
1. Take tramadol as pain killer along with muscle relaxant drugs like thiocholchicoside or metaxolone, a short course of cortisone under medical guidance.
2. Get x-ray of spine to rule out the possibility of fracture.
3. Physiotherapy in form of short wave diathermy/ TENS beside spine manipulation may help.
4. follow the below mentioned measures to reduce your back pain-
- Avoid lifting weights as it imparts more strain on your back
- Change your daily activities so that you avoid movements that can cause further pain, especially bending forward and lifting as it will worsen the intervertebral disc problems. If you want to bend forwards, do it with your hips and knees flexed.
- Use a lumbosacral back support to stabilize your spinal muscles and to provide support for your spinal column.
- After the initial pain has subsided, remedial exercises to strengthen the spine are very important to restore normal spinal movements and muscle strength. The main aim of exercise is to encourage mobility, reduce muscle spasm, prevent further deterioration in the muscles and speed recovery.
Hope this information suffices and I shall be glad to answer any further query.
Take care and wish you good health
