What Causes Pain In Hips And Thighs?

default
Posted on Thu, 4 Dec 2014
Question: I am a 48 year old female and have been suffering from pain when I sit, lay, or try to roll over on each side of my hips and thighs. The pain in the hips actually occurs along the outer thighs. In addition, my tailbone hurts when sitting and resting on my back. I also have Type 2 Diabetes and doctors have attributed this pain to neuropathy and possibly sciatica. However, Gabapentin, Duloxetin, and Lyrica have had no effect on the painful areas I described above. This type of pain can be unbearable to participate in family life, work, and leisure. I certainly have not gotten the rest I need at night because of the pain. Can anyone provide medical insight as to what direction I may pursue next?

Brief Answer:
Get a fresh MRI of lower spine done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam,

Thanks for your query.

Your pain seems to be due to neuropathy.

I suggest you to get a fresh MRI of lower spine to see the compression over nerve fibres.

Till then use L-S belt for support. Physiotherapy like TENS will be helpful. You can take tramadol preparation for pain after consulting your doctor.

You can share your reports, so that I can help you in better ways.

Take care.

Warm regards.
