Question: Hi. I had a colonoscopy 1 week ago. Since my large intestine was twisted and I had an impact on. I woke up with the Dr. Jamming something in me repeatedly. I told him to stop and he continued. Now my right lower ribs front and back are very painful, since the procedure.

Brief Answer:
Post colonoscopy complications should be ruled out if pain persists

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

There is bound to be some discomfort after such a procedure as colonoscopy. However, complications such as ulceration and perforation should be suspected if the pain is severe and persists despite novel treatment with anti spasmodic medication such as hyoscine butylbromide. An x ray erect abdomen with both hemidiaphragms can be advised to look for possible perforation.
