What Causes Pain In Neck With Sudden Exposure To Cold?

Question: I think my neck pain was produced by a sudden exposure to cold (it started after a visit to friends who had a very high AC system going on on Sat), does it make any sense? Sat was a hot day. I could felt the impact of the cold draft on my rhs nect muscle, it was very uncomfortable and the pain started from there.
Brief Answer:
it could be due to cold
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
cold exposure may cause damage to nerve fibers. The patient usually recovers fully with a few weeks. Sometimes a "bad" move may cause muscle sprain or strain. The neck is prone to such injury but in most cases the pain wears off within a few days.
Kind Regards!

Thank you Dr. Zografakis,
The big question is: what can I do to alleviate the pain? are there exercises or some kind of physiotherapy to achieve some degree of pain reduction?

Brief Answer:
you can try simple analgesics
Detailed Answer:
You're welcome!
You can't do much but using simple analgesics (OTC) perhaps with a muscle relaxant may help sometimes. Paracetamol and orphenadrine for example. Using a collar will help to reduce pain induced by even the slightest move.
