What Causes Pain In The Wrists, Ankles And Fingers While Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis?

default

Question: I was diagnosed with RA 4 years ago and have been on prednisone, methotrexate and hydroxychloroquine at different dosages since then. My RA is progressing to the point that I have extreme pain in wrists, ankles and fingers. My Dr. is now wanting me to start on Humira. After reading the literature, I am having second thoughts about trying it. I have anemia, stage 3 kidney disease, numerous UTI infections, a weak immune system and most important I am a diabetic II and am on novolog and lantus insulin. Will the humira have an effect on the diabetes insulins, kidneys and my low red blood count. thanking you in advance.

Brief Answer:
Yes , but it's needed.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HealthcareMagic,

Well looking into your problem, I would like to tell you that Humira happens to be best choice for you .

It suppresses the immune system so infection is always a possibility but rheumatoid arthritis also depresses the immune system to much greater extent than humira. So it is advisable to go for it as per your doctors advice . Humira won't give much side effects so don't worry .

Feel free to ask further
