What Causes Pain Near Buttocks And Legs?
Viral infection likely or scare..visit paediatrics
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Is there anything 'visible' on the skin to the naked eye or some redness etc?
Did he have chicken pox in the last 3 years or/& did he take the chicken pox vaccination?
Was there any trauma the day/evening before..for eg did he visit the park, fall off a slide etc?
Has school (pre-school) started for him recently?
Is there any fever, anyone else (other sibling perhaps) with a cold/fever in the last week or so? Is he finding it difficult to urinate?
It is very possible to be some sort of viral prodrome or even a scare (eg fear of teacher/school/peers) that may have sparked this. Do give him a teaspoon of 5 ml (125mg/5ml) ibuprofen or Imol if readily available. If persisting, take him across to see a paediatrician as soon as possible. If in XXXXXXX region, I would be happy to recommend one; else please use this HCM site to source one.
Relax it will all sort out & Godspeed.

Go ahead with Crocin
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
Yes do give crocin a try.
Avoid too much external ointment & Rubbing; note you hv used vicks already..this is of no use. It appears to be a hematoma (more likely)or it could be a condition called herpes zoster..next 24-48 hrs will tell.
Please do go across to St. John's Hospital & you could meet any paediatrician there..Dr XXXXXXX Lewin is a friend as is Dr Fulton & you could use my reference.
The reason I suggest a large hospital is because they have a good ER & if needed, other specialist present all under one roof..good in an emergency.
I work out of XXXXXXX Hospital on XXXXXXX Road & it may be a touch far for you unless it is a pure dermatology issue.
Good Luck & Godbless.
