What Causes Painful Lump In Groin Area?

Clinical photograph will be helpful
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Ms
Going by description of painful swelling in groin , it's likely to be lymphadenitis (inflammation of lymph node ). As you mentioned it's next to lymph node , possibility of inflamed hernia also needs to be ruled ouT. Exact differentiation is possibly after knowing the exact location of swelling. It would be very helpful if you could provide me with clinical photograph for further assessment.
Also provide me following additional information
1. Is there any lesion or ulceration on genital?
2. Did you have any unprotected sex?
Awaiting your response
Take care

no to the un protected sex
no to any lesions or sores
its in the crook of my leg near the lymph node and since I know what my lymph node is I can tell you its not it.
its to the left of it about an 1/8th of an inch more or less
Possibly inflammed node
Detailed Answer:
Dear Ms
A tender swelling next to lymph node , is much more likely to be inflammed lymph node and associated periadenenitis. Possibility of saphena varix or enlargement of vein also needs to be considered
I would suggest you the following
1. Anti inflammatory /aanalgesic llike Ibuprofen will be helpful
2. Hot water fomentation
If the swelling persists even after couple of days then do consult your physician for thorough clinical examination.
Take care
Best regards
Dr Deepak
