Was the pain and swelling all of a sudden?
Do you have thiss in the past.
For now put ice pack over the swelling, compress the swelling with crepe band and do not work with the hand. You can take over the counter pain killer available at home like Ibuprofen, Naproxen.

jUST WONDERING, INFO ON THE HAND. MY LEFT HAND, MIDDLELE KNUCKLE, I CAN FEEL WHAT SEEMS TO BE A KNOT . AND It FEELS UNCOMFORTABLE , also painfull.

sorry for no response, computor crashed, the knot is not pinchable and i have no means to upload a pictue, we cannot see the knot but can see some swelling , i can feel the knot to the touch.
