What Causes Pale-blue-purplish Sequence Of Colour Changes After Foot Injury?

Question: I have an inversion sprain from horse back riding. It happened last night. Will a wrap help and should I ride tomorrow? My outer foot was blue last night and is brownish, bluish, purplish today. I can not put much weight on it and I hobble when I try to walk. Thanks
Brief Answer:
The wrap helps.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.
The wrap helps because it protects the ankle. An elastic wrap/bandage is better.
You shouldn't ride for few days because your ankle needs rest.
If it was blue then there is blood into your joint, so rest is indispensable.
Ice 20-30 minutes several times a day ( up to ten times) for first 48 hours after injury helps reduce swelling.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
