Question: Dr. XXXXXXX I typed out a fullness of information that I had ready to send "some Dr." and now you've been kind enough to assist me....AND I THIS SITE ERASED MY PROBLEM LETTER....
I WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY, here sir.....I've had a cough now for a month or so, and with the "clear Fleem", and I spoke with the Dr. sometime back, no problem, get some Metamucil and I did and that got rid of 95% of my coughing......now I've got the cough back, and a sore throat, and my reg. Dr. was not in yesterday, so I have an assistant and he looked in my throat, and I have a cough now rather often and there IS some tenderness in my coughs and I felt under my right jaw and I do feel my ??? pea like size, and it's hard, the other side is not, so the right side is what's my worry, I am going to send this then fenish as I feel you may be waiting sir. ??? He gave me some Amoxicillin 500 mg. to take for 10 days, 2 in morning and 2 in evening. I would like to see a real oncologist I'm thinking rather than just sit around for 10 more days with a "pea like" found under my right Jaw.....I am worried, ALOT NOW. and you say Dr. ??????
AS IT IS AT THIS MOMENT, I AM TO TAKE THE AMOXICILLIN 500'S FOR 10 DAYS TOTAL, THEN GO TO ANOTHER DR. WHO CAN SEE WHAT MIGHT BE WRONG THEN??? A DIFFERENT DR. THO, FOR SURE. SIR, I JUST DO NOT WISH TO WAIST ANY TIME GETTING TO THE RIGHT "MEDICINE" TO "HOPEFULLY" GET ME BACK WITHOUT THEIS COUGH AND TENDERNESS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF MY FACE FROM MY LEFT JAW, TO ON DOWN IN MY THROAT.....The Dr. at the office I've been going to for 12 years, my Reg.Dr. was out, so I got someone I'd never been to. I just do NOT LIKE THE IDEA OF HAVING TO "WAIT FOR 10 MORE DAYS TO FIND SOMETHNG OUT" ???? BUT THAT IS WHAT THEY'VE TOLD ME TO DO..
AND YOU SAY, SIR ????????
THE DR. THAT CHECKED ME OUT, YESTERDAY, SAID MY LYMPH GLAND WAS HARD, (I'D FELT OF IT, I KNEW THAT)(I TOLD HIM) HE SAID THE DR. YOU'RE TO SEE IN 10 DAYS CAN "CUT THAT OUT" WITHOUT A PROBLEM....
PLEASE SIR, I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE "PROPER WAY" TO GET THRU THIS WITH THE """""VERY BEST OF INFORMATON""""" AND WHAT TO DO NEXT, THEN NEXT, THEN NEXT ????
PLEASE ASSIST ME SIR, AND I THANK YOU SO MUCH.
HAL XXXXXXX TIOGA, XXXXXXX 817-271-4155

Brief Answer:
You are having common viral/bacterial infection...

Detailed Answer:
Hi there XXXXX,

I have just received your health query. I have gone through it carefully and understood your concerns.

Having pea-sized and hard lymph-nodes under the jaw is a sign of infection. It is common to get neck lymph-nodes infected when having flu or other common viral/bacterial infection.

I think you are going through a viral infection that has also affected your lymph-nodes. Amoxicillin is ok to treat bacterial infection that can also occur in such situations.

If I was your caring doctor would also prescribe:
- continue Mucinex for phlegm
- take anti-hystamine for cough
- do aerosol therapy to unblock upper respiratory airways
- take good oral hygiene. Oral spray can be used together with gargle with water and salt.
- take 1 teaspoon of olive oil and honey on daily basis

I advise to wait for a couple of days and go back to your reg.doc's office to get further evaluated. If improvement, continue the same regimen until fully recovered. If no improvement, you might need to change therapy.

At last, I do not see anything worrisome at your case. You have been always healthy, that's why getting ill makes you feel worried.

Wish fast recovery! Let me know if you need further clarifications!
