What Causes Persistent Leg Pain And Burning Sensation In Feet At Night?
Question: Hi Doctor,
This is for my mom. She is 50 year old and suffering from leg pain for last couple of years. She also feel burning sensation under the feet especially during night. She got varicose vein on her legs, which is very much visible on the sides of the knee and on foot. She consulted an ortho specialist earlier and he prescribed few medications and also a belt to support the hip area. She is not very comfortable wearing it and stopped using it an year back. And she says the pain reduces when she wears it. So I need your advise whether to consult an ortho specialist again or a neurologist to take further treatment.

Brief Answer:
Please Follow-up with Orthopedician and a few investigations too..
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX, Welcome to HCM,
I've gone thorough your query and understand your concern for your mother..
Yes, she can use pneumatic compression stockings if wearing belt is not comfortable..
For the burning sensation, i'd suggest a few investigations i.e. CBC, FBS, PPBS(2 HR), HbA1C, Electrolytes, BUN, Creatinine, Uric acid, Vit D3 and Vit B12 levels.. since she has already consulted the orthopedician, you can follow-up with the orthopedician only for a repeat check-up of the area..
Let me know how she stays in the due course..
Take Care
Kind Regards
