What Causes Persistent Nausea After Eating?

Question: hello. I am writing you for my father, who is 72 and who does not have access to Applications. He has an old fashioned phone! So I told him I would ask you about the symptoms he has been having. His doctor has no idea what is wrong and has done extensive test on him, and have found nothing. He has had tests for diabetes, prostate cancer, thyroid tests, and EKG which was fine, glucose levels and tons of blood work. None of his doctors can figure out what is wrong. His symptoms consist of nausea after eating, extreme weakness, which gets a little bit better with some rest, and cold sweats. He says that he is so weak that he cannot even walk up the stairs without concerning a lot of effort. Like I said, his doctors have been of no help to him. They cannot tell him what is wrong. We really need some help.

Advice to undergo Esophageogastro Duodenoscopy (EGD)
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HCM
Persistent nausea after eating is suggestive of dyspepsia. Dyspepsia is associated with increased acid production in stomach. However, since your father is complaining of extreme weakness, cold sweats, and initial evaluation did not reveal any problems, raises the concern for gastric ulcer and gastric malignancy. Further evaluation with EGD is recommended.
Please be advised to follow up with a gastroenterologist for further evaluation.
