Question: Doctor,
I have been put on
Zeprol CR(300), 1-0-1
Sizdon LS 1-0-1
Oleanz 10mg 0-0-1
Nitrosun (10mg) 1/2 or 1 at bed time if sleepless

I have been on this regimen for the past eight months . Lately I just cant go to sleep. I have had to take the Nitrosun regularly to get sleep. Other than this there is no problem. And a general restlessness is experienced while going off to bed in the night.

Brief Answer:
Dose of Olanzapine can be increased

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern. If with Olanzapine and Sizodone you are not able to sleep then in such situations in my opinion there are two options. One is to increase the dose of Olanzapine to 15 mg in night. This will help in good sedation and thus will help in sleep. The drug is safe drug and doesn't cause dependence so the dose can be increased without any worries.

Other option is to add some more potent hypnotic in place of Nitrosun. Lorazepam or Clonazepam can be added and will help in sleep. But these drugs are known to cause dependence so should be avoided to use regularly. You can consult your doctor for either of these options and thus will surely restore your sleep.

Thanks, Hope this helps you, if you have more doubts you can ask again.
