Physiological mineralization is physiological calcification of the basal ganglia. It is a normal age related calcification of basal ganglia. It is non-pathological, so it is not a disease. It does not cause any symptoms or any neurological problem and is very common in elderly population. It is just the degeneration of some of the cells which are replaced by calcium, but which does not impair the brain function at all.
