What Causes Pressure On The Thigh And Toes On Sitting?

Question: When I sit on a seat that causes pressure on the thigh my toes and partial top of foot turns blue-purple. This can happen on one or both feet. When I stand up the color slowly changes back to normal. What’s happening? This is getting progressively more regular, where it use to be infrequent and seemed random.

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti.
It would have been better if you provided details about other associated illnesses or disease gynecological problems if any; Any drugs intake; your height, weight etc.
These may be due to venous compression or other causes. You may need to undergo basic scan and Doppler study and other investigation. The test will help us arrive at a conclusion. Until then it may be better to avoid pressure. Weight reduction if obese may of help. Check for any varicose veins.
Please visit your local physician and discuss about the tests that I mentioned above.
Thank you
