What Causes Prominent Veins On Right Inner Calf And Ankle Pain?
It could be Lymphangitis or vein thrombosis.
Detailed Answer:
Hi. You could be either having Lymphangitis or an inflamed vein in the calf.
You should consult a Surgeon who can examine you and let you know what it is. If the redness has gone as you say then the infection is probably subsiding but as the pain is persisting you should get it looked at.
A Color Doppler of the venous system of your limb should be done to rule out Varicose Veins and vein thrombosis for which you might require treatment.
Do not worry.
Its a simple problem with a simple solution but do get it evaluated.
I cant tell you much more as I cannot examine you but if you have any further queries I would be happy to answer.
Take care.
