Detailed Answer:
Hi! Welcome to health care magic! Thanks for sharing your concerns with us. We will try to help you in best way possible.

First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it would have been more appreciable of you had shared that what side below the ribs you experience the pain? As on the left stomach and spleen pains while on the right side liver or fall bladder pains may be experienced though with persistant cough or some lungs infection may also present like this.

I would suggest you to have it examined by your GP as it would narrow down the possible causes and later you can have chest Xray and ultrasound abdomen alongwith liver function and Complete blood picture. Meanwhile keep using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
