What Causes Red Stretch Marks On The Buttocks Around The Waist Line?

Question: Hi I have developed something like red stretch marks on my buttocks but around my waist everytime I get out the shower I have red lines that rise up and start to itch. Now yesterday I took a hot shower and I got out the shower and there were small red spots on my thigh they don't itch they are just there I woke up this morning they are still there. I am a skinny girl but recently I have gained weight so my work pants are getting very tight and it gets really hot at work.could you possibly tell me what is the cause of this

Dear Ms

Sudden gain in weight leads to stretching of dermis causing stretch marks. exact diagnosis will however depend on clinical examination.
These stretch marks start to itch whenever exposed to hot water.

It would be very helpful if you could provide me following additional information

Thanks for providing clinical photograph , it really helps.
The lesions are small petechia ( petechia are small bleeding under the unsupported skin and dermis ) . As there is no other symptoms , there is no cause for concern. Individuals who either loose or gain weight have predisposition for getting petechia. Also associated Vitamin C deficiency could be predisposing factors .

Oral Vitamin C supplements and avoiding exposure to extremes of temperature will be helpful.

How long will this take to go away? I am on the depo shot do you think that is the cause? So eat foods with vitamin C and take warm showers and ill be ok?

Deep shot could also predispose to it. It will take another 2-3 days for complete resolution. Continue taking Vitamin C supplements for 2-3 weeks and avoid hot water shower.
