What Causes Redness And Discoloration On Scrotum?

Question: Hello, a few days ago I begin feeling a burning sensation on my scrotum. I took a closer look today and I noticed a dark discoloration about the size of a quarter on my scrotum (more in the middle area, as opposed to the side near my leg).

What could be the cause? Should I see a doctor or should I try using an antifungal cream?

Thanks for providing clinical photograph as it really helps in giving opinion.
The redness and discolouration is due to Cellulitis (inflammation ) of scrotal wall. Antifungal ointment will not help. It will require thorough assessment by Physician to rule out underlying abscess and appropriate management.
I would suggest you to consult your Physician for further assessment.

Thank you for your response. Should I see a dermatologist or a general physician?Also until I see a doctor, would you recommend that I use a heating pad and sleeping with my mid section elevated above my heart?

I would recommend assessment by Surgeon.

Heating pad will cause more harm than good. Scrotal support by wearing right fitting underwear and local application of antibiotic ointment will be helpful till you seek medical assistance.
