What Causes Redness And Swelling In Penis And Foreskin?
My glans and prepuce are red and swelled
As well as my Eurethra. They itch pretty bad too. I wash regularly and practice good genital hiegene. I am married and monogamous.
The only possible cause I can think of is that we used a lambskin condom prior to the onset of my condition. Afterwards I noticed some redness on my my prepuce. I have noticed this in the past and thought little of it. About a week prior to that I stop using nasacort which I used for about a week.
Thanks

Hi and thank you so much for this query.
I am so sorry to hear about these symptoms that you have reported. They are suggestive of balanitis with the cause being allergy to the lamb condom you used. I will recommend that you try using a different brand of condom and preferably what you have been using in the past. I will appreciate that you send an image to me for review. This way, I will be able to appreciate the extend of this infection/swelling before making recommendations on what treatment modalities to adopt.

Maybe the clotrimazole is working?
Thank you.
I have seen the images already!

Hi and thank you so much for the images. They have been successfully uploaded already.
I have reviewed ten and they are suggestive of a balanitis. Give the surrounding circumstances of onset, it is not caused by a fungal infection. I find it hard to ascribe the improvement to clotrimazole. I think it is more of a natural healing process than the benefits of clotrimazole.
The plan s to keep the penis always clean, dry and airy. Healing would be spontaneous. Cleansing with an antiseptic such as iodine is fine. If you have any serious pains, I will recommend that you take Tylenol to control pain and would recommend loose under wears which cannot cause pains. I expect near complete healing within 7-10days.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. If you need more help, am always here to listen and address your worries.
I was using tea tree oil Prior to the clotrimazole. Would that be acceptable to use?
Thank you
To me, keep it simple and follow just the above steps!
