Brief Answer:
middle ear infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi!

Welcome to health care magic!

I am Dr. Saddiq Ul Abidin. I have read your problem in detail and will try to help you in best way possible.

Sense of fullness or pressure can be either due to spread of infection to inner ear which maintains balance of body or it may due to loss of air pressure balance outside and inside of ear drum.

In any case as your past history suggest, the suspicion of spread to mastoid bone has been made so that calls for an urgent need of a CTscan and ENT consultation and extent of spread of infection should be determined. As middle ear infections can spread into the skull and can be dangerous.

Also prompt treatment with antibiotics like augmentin or cephalosporins for gram positive bacteria and anaerobes should be done. For symptomatic relief even serc and stemetil can be given simultaneously. For pain, you can use acetaminophen or ibuprofen. For any proof of spread of infection to skull bone or bony sinuses, intravenous antibiotic cover after indoor admission may be needed. I hope in your case, surgical options will not be needed as it is still an early pick.

Hope this has answered your query, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. kindly rate me before closing, and leave your feedback if possible.

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ul abidin.

Brief Answer:
extensive middle ear infection

Detailed Answer:
Hi! Well as you have been through majority if my recommendations already, and I would second with the decision of your primary doctor. At this moment, as you are already on antibiotics, let them work, and continue as you have been prescribed by your doctor on discharge from the hospital. At this moment, there is no need for urgent referal as symtoms will get some time to improve completely. If symtoms like fever, tinnitis, vertigo or heaviness increase drastically, even more than your initial presentation, then you can speed up your appointment. Meanwhile using anti inflammatory medicine along with augmentin duo will help with your current symptoms.
