Question: I have severe back pain radiating across the back in an arch ......... I had turp surgery 4 weeks ago. I do not have a urinary infection. What could this be ?? Is this a sign that I might have had cancer and it has spread?

Brief Answer:
Referred pain

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

The pain you have now could be a referred pain due to the healing wound in the prostate.

Also, such pain can be seen in end stage prostate cancer with metastasis in the spine. By that stage there would be severe weight loss and appetite loss along with pain.

Need not worry, the pain does wane off within few more weeks. If not then do consult your urologist to rule out any infections.

Hope, I answered your query.

Wish you good health.
