Brief Answer:
Neuropathy can be due to a variety of reasons
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
Burning sensation of the feet is primarily due to neuropathy which is a conditon affecting the nerves. It may occur due to a variety of reasons. You seem to have sensory neuropathy but the weakness is definitely a cause of concern.
I would suggest you check your blood glucose levels. This could be a sign of diabetes.
Do you smoke or take alcohol? Do you have a low back ache? By saying weakness what did you mean? Is it that you have difficulty walking or difficulty wearing footwear? Are you a vegetarian? Do you or anyone in your family have thyroid disease?
