What Causes Severe Leg Pain?
I am assuming, that so far, you have not been able to offer any answers. I just took two over the counter sleep aids, and some oxycocet, so hopefully, I will be able to sleep. Lying down and trying to walk any distance or climbing stairs is unbearable! I will leave my question in your capable hands and I hope that tomorrow I will find an answer and some suggestions.
Thanks
Goodnight XXXX
MRI /CT of the spine and affected area.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
To come to the main point of concern which you have asked for::
I am trying to recapitulate the history you have provided.
''most excruciating pain in legs for the past 3-4 weeks (bouts of it several times a year)- down the front of the legs from the groin to the knee and sometimes to the foot. not associated with sciatic nerve- spasms that cause my legs to jump suddenly- pain is a 10 on a scale of 1-10. Medical history also noted.
Based on this history I can suggest a single investigation: MRI of the thoraco-lumbar spine and MRI of the Pelvis down to the knee. (Tell them about your TKR or CT scan if TKR does not allowing for MRI).
If I were your treating doctor, I will look for the scan reports to find out if something is amiss. You have to specifically tell them your problem for them to study the area thoroughly. I am sure you will get a proper diagnosis and lead to a proper treatment.
All the best
