Let me know if you have a history if any injury or trauma there.
However, after clinical examination of the bone, one can comment.

Brief Answer:
Tail bone pain should be further evaluated.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to HCM.
Okay I got it , let me answer you with more details.
Tail bone pain can be due to Sacrum injury or due to sitting on hard surface for long time , because of which our sacrum (bone) get injured due to micro-trauma and there may be fibrosis formation.
There are some other causes (but unlikely) of tail bone pain which need to be ruled out too during clinical examination along with respective X-ray and MRI scan.
The other causes are spinal cyst or tumor, dislocation from injury or overweight , which can cause bones to shift or repeated stress (e.g, horseback riding, bicycling, motorcycle riding)
An X-ray and MRI scan of the sacrum will help in identifying the cause of Coccydynia.
Meanwhile, you may try some general measures for symptomatic relief.
1) Sit completely upright with proper posture — keeping your back firmly against the chair, knees level with your hips, feet flat on the floor and shoulders relaxed.
2) Use ring cushion and take sitz bath [sitting in lukewarm water for 10 min, which involves soaking hips and buttocks in warm water)
3) Lean forward while sitting down.
4) Physical therapy involving strengthening of pelvic area muscles , stimulation with ultrasound therapy.
5) Take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen or ibuprofen as needed.
If your symptoms are not getting relieved with the above measures, consult an orthopaedic surgeon for further evaluation and management.
Hope this answers your query.
Wishing you good health.
