dyspepsia, follow the advice, if persist may require endoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome
I have gone through your query.
Based on the information I feel you are having dyspepsia.
I would suggest few measures that will be beneficial.
You need to follow both pharmacological and non pharmacological measures. Avoid excess consumption of tea/ coffee/ hydrogenated drinks. Avoid smoking and alcohol, if any.
Antacids like Digene or Gelusil syp, 2tsp in 50ml of water three to four times a day half an hour before food. You can also take capsule omeprazole 20 mg twice daily empty stomach, before breakfast and half an before dinner for a week. ( Omeprazole is more effective than zantac, I would have prescribed you this)
You can take probiotics like Sporolac or Ecobion which will be beneficial and you can take curd as well.
Maintain a gap of atleast 2 hrs in between dinner and going to bed. Eat frequent small meals instead of heavy ones and do not starve. Do not lie down immediately after food, walk for at least 10 to 15 minutes. Keep your head end slightly raised when sleeping. Avoid spicy and oily food for few days till the symptoms are resolved. Avoid or reduce the intake of meat, dairy products, and add more fiber to your diet. Eat lots of salads, vegetables, fresh fruits. Avoid gas producing foods like peas, cabbage, legumes, etc. Eat light meals prepared under hygienic conditions. Avoid eating fast and talking while eating.
Follow this measures your symptoms should reduce. If the symptoms persist, I would have asked for upper GI endoscopy to check your stomach, and also would have tested for H pylori infection.
Hope this helps.
Take care
