Posted on Sat, 2 May 2015
Question: Hi,

I have a small growth like area on my penis that keeps tearing/burning and cracks easily. This has been going on for a year. I was diagnosed with HSV2 few years back, but never had something like this before.

Brief Answer:
Pyogenic granuloma

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query and photograph.
There are many dilated sebaceous glands.
The cut on the penis looks like pyogenic granuloma.
It is a disorder of blood vessels and needs to be cauterised by radiofrequency.
It can be done easily by a dermatologist.
For immediate relief and to prevent infection you can use an antibacterial cream like mupirocine.
This should give you relief.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.

Hello Doctor,

Thank you for the email. The skin was inflamed in the pic I uploaded earlier, since I put apple cider vinegar on it. I am uploading a pic that I took couple weeks ago, and have added a rectangle around the skin area I am talking about (with a central depression when I pull the skin). Does it still look like Pyogenic Granuloma ?

If yes, What are the possible options other than cauterisation ? Are there any medicines to use for it ?
