What Causes Snoring While Sleeping In Children?

Either Habitual or due to Adenoid enlargement
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to Healthcaremagic
Greetings of the day
Dear Mr XXXXXXX
Snoring in a child could be a normal habit or could be due to adenoid ( Type of tonsil like tissue present in nasopharynx : At the back of nasal cavity ) hypertrophy (enlargement ). It is very difficult to make a small child understand it.
I would suggest you the following
1. Assessment and evaluation by ENT Surgeon : if everything is fine then there is no cause for concern.
2. Steam inhalation : Preferably using electronic steamer. Maintain safe distance from the baby. 10 to 15 minutes of steam inhalation twice a day preferably the second one before bedtime will help clear the respiratory passage
3. Make the child sleep in left lateral or right lateral position: Babies who sleep on their back or stomach have more snoring compared to those sleeping on one side
Many of the babies have improvement in snoring over a period of time and there is no cause for concern.
Do get back to me if you need any further assistance, will be glad to assist you.
Do take good care of your self.
Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy life.
Best regards
