What Causes Soreness And Redness At The Base Of Penis Head?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016
Question: Hi there, I have a question about a penis related problem. Over the last few days I've had a sort of soreness and redness around the base of the head of the penis and a little around the tip. It almost feels as if it is a little raw. I noticed this after I received slightly more rough than usual oral sex with my partner. We haven't had actual intercourse in weeks and we have only ever used condoms. I am just looking for an opinion on what this is and whether I should be worried about STD's or any other infections as well as what I can do to help this problem. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Please, upload an image for review!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this soreness and redness that you have reported. I have reviewed the information fully and this is certainly not in anyways suggestive of a possible STD. This is most likely caused by trauma following the somewhat rough oral sex with your partner. To be so sure and make a personalized and helpful recommendation to you, I suggest that you upload an image for review. This way, I can confirm my suspicion and provide more insights based on the image.

To upload an image, click on the upload icon to the right of your dashboard and follow the onscreen instructions. You may also send it directly to customer service at YYYY@YYYY and request that it should be uploaded to your query.

I hope to hear from you and promise to respond promptly. Until next, I wish you well.

Thank you Dr.
I have attached a couple photos, I apologize if they are unclear but I hope they help. The spot on the tip of my penis is slightly red and a tad swollen I think. This is a relief that you don't believe it is an STD. I look forward to your recommendation.

Brief Answer:
Cleanse only with an antispetic!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Cleansing with an antiseptic is all that I recommend at this time. No application of any topical creams.

Also, Ibuprofen for pain and soreness relieved is advised if it hurts much and cannot be tolerated.

At this time, no testing for STDs required.

Keep me updated!
