What Causes Stiffness And Pain In Body After Waking Up In The Morning?
Question: What could be wrong with me?
I wake up every morning stiff and in pain. My neck, fingers, arms and legs hurt the worse. My back and chest hurt so bad sometimes I can't breath. Once I wake up and take Motrin after a couple of hours I start to move better. This has been getting progressively worse. The pain never goes away, it just gets tolerable.

Brief Answer:
Need evaluation
Detailed Answer:
There could be a lot of reasons like cervical spondilitis and myofacial syndrome or even rheumatoid arthritis. You can continue antiinflammatory drug ibuprofen (motrin) or even steroid for 10 to 15 days with an antacid until you see a doctor.
Your doctor after a physical examination may order investigations like hemoglobin, RA Factor, ESR and x-ray of your whole spine. That should give us clues about the cause of pain.
Hope this helps.
Regards
