I ALSO HAVE A PASEMAKER, COPD, AND TYPE 11 DIABETES.
YES I AM TOAST BUT MY LEGS FROM THE KNEES DOWN HAVE BEEN VERY SOWLEN WITH BRUSSING.
MY GP TO KEEP MY FEET UP BUT I DO NEED TO WORK.
IF I SOAK MY LEGS SHOULD IT BE IN COLD WATER OR HOT?
SHOULD I ALSO BE WEARING THOSE CIRCULETION SOCKS?
Soak your feet with warm water, wear the socks after edema reduction...
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query and understood your concerns.
Your symptoms seems typical for leg edema due to chronic cor pulmonale and the best thing to do in your case is to increase the diuretic doses.
If you were my patient i would increase the dose of lasix and add spironalactone to your therapy. This will help in reducing leg edema.
My suggestion is to avoid soaking your legs with neither cold or hot water. These will cause skin laceration and leg wounds, which are to difficult to be healed.
You should wear circulation socks only after leg edema reduction. If you were the socks before this may cause additional skin damage.
Hope this will be of help!
Wishing you health!
