What Causes Swelling In Legs And Feet After An Endoscopy And Colonoscopy?

Question: Hello
My father is aged 65. On a check up trip to XXXXXXX for my mother they did a check up on him.
They found out he had very low blood (HB) levels. It was 6 and the minimum is 12.
After that they did a endoscopy and colonoscopy. In that they found out polyps in the stomach, colon. They have taken biopsy and the result will be out in 5 days.
In the past since about 2-3 years now my dad has had swellings in the leg and feet. He also had a ulcer removal about 10 years ago.
My questions are :
1/ could this just be polyps or could it be cancerous
2/ if its polyps and they are removed then after how long do we need to check again if new polyps have re occurred?
3/ if it is only polyps and not cancer then why is he having very low hb level. Do polyps chew blood ? Or is it cancer ?
4/ any other advise

Brief Answer:
Yes may be polyps
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
These may indeed be polyps. Polyps can leak blood and cause anemia. Polyps can harbor cancer in them as well. That can only be shown in the biopsy report.
If they are all benign polyps on biopsy we may need a recheck endoscopy after 6 months.
Please get back to me with the biopsy reports, then I can guide you better.
Hope this helps.
Regards
