What Causes Swelling On The Feet?

Question: my wife has swollen feet. i have given her 2 glasses of cranberry juice, she is weak. she just completed 14 days of alcohol detox. i am concerned about kidney problems
Brief Answer:
High BP can cause swelling
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I can see from previous consultations that your wife had raised blood pressure too. Please check that, since it can cause swelling. If blood pressure is normal, other possibilities are anaemia, kidney problem as you rightly deduced, and also liver problems since she was an alcoholic.
Yes Cranberry juice is good.
Please revert back with latest Blood pressure, and if normal---a Haemoglobin, a routine urine examination, and a sonography of Abdomen and pelvis to see condition of liver, and if there is any fluid in the abdomen.
Regards

Not high BP. It was determined at the hospital that she has severe liver and stomach cancer. Hospice is bringing her home now. We hope for a week or Two for end of life.
