Thank you for your response. I have heard that steroids are a common treatment. I am leary of this being T1D, and have not had a good response to steroids in the past. What other treatment options are there?

Hi dear, I am happy to have helped you.
Streroids are the common treatment for autoimmune diseases, however if one doesn't reponds to steroids, then other immunomodulator and cytotoxic drugs are given. There are various options available, and response to them is generally good and quick.
