Brief Answer:
Its Infection of skin.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Greetings from Dr Divakara P
Thanks for posting your query.
Can I presume that the redness and the tenderness is over the site of surgery. If that's so then it is infection of the skin and underlying tissue . This condition is called Cellulitis.
You need to get started on an antibiotic course and if there is an increase in redness or tenderness inspite of starting antibiotic then you need to consult your doctor again and may have to get pus drainage from the infection.
Consult your doctor and get started on antibiotic course.
Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
Regards.
