What Causes Tickling Sensation In Throat Leading To Severe Cough?
Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux, thyroid problems...
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for posting the query
I do understand your concern; I will try my best to help you with this problem.
According to the description provided by you, I am of the opinion that these symptoms could be related to multiple conditions, which requires a thorough evaluation.
Tickling in the throat followed by cough is the feature of Laryngo-pharyngeal reflux. When the acid from the stomach trickles into the throat, there is inflammation of the mucosa leading to irritation and dry cough. This usually worsens in the night because of the supine position, which enables the easy flow of the acid from the stomach into the throat.
Secondly, any thyroid related issues can cause recurrent fever with perspiration and body aches.
My sincere suggestion to you is to get a complete evaluation done by an apt physician. You will require thorough evaluation of the throat, neck and the chest, followed by an ultrasound of the neck, battery of blood investigations (such as complete blood count, ESR, thyroid profile).
Hope I have answered your query; I will be available for the follow-up queries.
