What Causes Vomiting, Weakness In Legs And Knee Pain?
Question: We live in Florida. My 10 year old daughter felt sick last night when she went to bed. She woke up at 11, 12, 1:00, 3.00 and 5:00 and threw up. She is in bed today, no longer sick to her stomach, but her legs are weak, with fairly sharp pains around both knees. Suggestions?
Brief Answer:
Sick
Detailed Answer:
Hello. I just read through your question.
The symptoms you describe are consistent with a viral illness. This is most likely a stomach virus that caused the vomiting. There is almost always at least a little dehydration after that which can lead to muscle ache and/or join pain. Often it can also cause headache.
I recommend concentrating on hydration today. Make sure she is taking fluids. typically, once hydration improves, the pains fade away.
