Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

I have read your query and understood your problem.

Do you have any giddiness ?

I hope you would answer a few queries for me to be in a better position to help you.

Do you have back pain that radiates to the legs ?

Any tingling or numbness or weakness of upper limbs ?

Do you get frequent headaches and blurry vision ?

According to the history provided, it appears that you have weakness of both the lower limbs since 7 weeks which is quite a long time. This could be due t variety of causes.

I would have to consider the risk factor of hypertension for an impending stroke which can present this way sometimes, especially if you have associated frequent headaches, blurry vision. Also possible are other movement disorders like Parkinsonism which also cause tremors of the hands.

The other common cause can be pinched nerve in the spine mostly at the lower back region. This can cause radiating low back pain to the lower limbs, associated with tingling and numbness or pins and needles sensation.

I would advise you to eat healthy, keep well hydrated with 6-8 glasses of water daily. Avoid bending forwards and lifting heavy weights. Keep a responsible adult to watch after you if you are prone to falls. Make use of Walking stick or crutches if you feel weakness while walking. Avoid smoking and drinking alcohol. Get your vision tested if you have blurry vision as that can be due to the high blood pressure or cataract as well.

Consume diet rich in calcium like eggs, cheese, nuts, cereals, pulses, chicken, lean meat to prevent osteomalacia and also to some extent osteoporosis. Walk daily for 45 minutes within your capability to bring strength to the bones and muscles, if possible.

I advise you to consult a Neurologist or Orthopaedician to perform a thotough physical examination and necessary investigations like Brain CT or MRI, and if needed MRI spine to look for brain disorders and pinched nerves respectively.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Thanking you.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
