What Are The Side Effects Of Alkasol Syrup?

does alkasol syrup has any side effects? my mum is 50 years of age and she has a past history of urine infection....and now she is taking the syrup because a previous symptom of ankle swelling has reoccured.she has high uric acid levels,previously detected now under control daibetes, artharitis,and osteomalacia and she has undergone a utereus operation where it has been cut off. will this alkasol syrup have any side effects on her ?

Hi,

Alkasol syrup contains disodium hydrogen citrate which is used to treat gout and kidney stones. It stops the production of uric acid in the body and reduces the episodes of gout attack and prevent kidney stones. Side effects of Alkasol syrup are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, tiredness, frequent urge to urinate, fatigue, flatulence, anxiety, muscle spasms, GIT upset, hypokalemia, seizures, breathing difficulties, increased heartbeat, unpleasant taste, change in mood, allergic reactions etc.
