My primary care doctors opinion is that this stomach problem I've been having is due to the autonomic dysfunction. He says that the autonomic nervous system regulates digestion and when it does not function properly, flare ups such as the type I am experiencing is common. The problem is that there is no treatment he says for autonomic dysfunction. That only management of the symptoms is possible.
Brief Answer:
Autonomic dysfunction does not cause protracted diarrhea
Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam.
I can certainly understand your concerns.
I apologize for the delayed response considering my hectic work schedule.
I don't think the symptoms in your case can be attributed solely to Autonomic dysfunction.
AD is known to cause constipation as its predominant symptoms but not protracted diarrhea as in your case.
Associated nausea and sensation of being sick can reflect electrolyte loss from the body through diarrhoeal stool. This warrants a check up for serum electrolytes.
Antidiarrheal medications cannot be given in your case in presumptive basis considering your age and duration of symptoms.
I request you to consult an expert GASTROENTEROLOGIST and get the relevant tests at the earliest .
Further management can be meticulously planned based on test results.
