What Causes White Discoloration Around Anus?

Question: My wife and I were in the shower and she noticed white discoloration around my anus. After a colonoscopy a couple years ago, my GI doc said I had a small fissure, and after closer inspection of the white area, there is indeed a small laceration in the center. I'd just like to know if this is likely a typical fibrous tissue around the fissure, or looks to you like something more.
Brief Answer:
Histopathological examination of the fissure is needed.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Sir.
I understand your concern.
This could be the fibrous tissue or a hyperplastic epithelium covering the fissure.
These anal fissures as shown in your attached report require a histopathological examination to accurately assess its nature and further treatment plan.
Biopsy of the specimen is usually done.
Thank you.

Thank you. In your opinion is it an urgent matter, or does the white tissue look as you would expect it to?
Brief Answer:
Get the test as a routine part of investigation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I do not say its an urgency, but its always important to get the histopathological study as appearances can often be deceptive.
