What Causes Yellowish Dribbling Watery Discharge From Nose Along With Headaches?

Self care & expert's advise would help.
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the query under health care magic. I have read it & understood your concern.
- Dribbling watery discharge from nose , which turned yellow & orange in color & is associated with head ache, body ache- indicates inflammation & infection of frontal sinus (lying above eye brow ).This can happen due to allergy/ infection ( viral, bacterial or both ). It can also follow nasal polyp -by casing inflammation of the nasal inner lining.
- You didn't mention any allergic symptom like sneezing/ itching before the symptoms- so it's likely to be viral with secondary infection by bacteria or nasal polyp being infected.
- The orange discharge suggests blood being mixed with yellow nasal discharge( which indicates infection) this symptom needs pin pointing the cause & advise of specific treatment.
* So I would advise not to wait for natural cure of viral infection & consult an ENT specialist for detailed examination of nasal cavity / investigations - as per need & specific treatment. ( which may contain anti allergic medicine with decongestant, non steroidal anti inflammatory pills , specific antibiotics, steroids -as per need. ) nasal polyp may need surgical removal.
* Self care-
- Cleaning of nose by gentle blowing , using saline nasal spray to keep the nasal passage humid, Irrigation by saline water can be learnt under expert nurses/ naturopathist's guidance... if doctor advises it.
- stop smoking , avoid known allergen, dust, fumes, smoke.avoid exposure to extreme temperatures ( hot or cold )
-Drink lot of non alcoholic liquids. Warm water, soups, tea, coffee would be helping,
- Do warm water gargles to avoid extension of infection to throat.
- Avoid spicy, cold & sour eatables.Eat nutritious food with fresh vegetables, salads, fruits.
* So please relax.. you would be free of the nagging symptoms with an experts treatment & self care.
