What Do Drooping Eyelids, Dry Or Water Eyes And Headaches Indicate?
I visited a Neurologist who has referred me on to another Neurologist
I have now a confirmed diagnosis of Chrones and Fibro myalgia.
However they cant seem to get to any diagnosis on the ptosis of t
the right eyelid and eyebrow. I have very severe dry eyes. It appears
that I am sensitive to bright downward artificial light , blue light ie computers
television and cant read for long. A few weeks ago I had a turn when I went to get
out of bed one morning...everything swayed and I was very dizzy.
Although nothing since has been as bad as that morning..I still experience
balance issues when I arise. I also find laying down sometimes I get a nausea feeling and if i turn my head the swaying dizzy feeling ove
rcomes me. Sometime if I slightly adjust my head the swaying nausea
feeling will pass..ie 2 minutes or so. I began getting the odd
headache a few months ago but I notice now I am getting headaches 2-3 times a week and I feel light headed at times. I had a MRI scan back in Aoril before all of this began and it was fine. When I get the headache the right eyelid and brow droop.i can sit in filtered light and look out at sunlight but if I sit in a room with
bright lights beaming down ir directly into my eyes...my right eye will close and so will my right eyebrow. Sometimes my right eye waters. However turn the bright lights off snd my eyelid and my eyebrow will return to normal. Sometimes wgen I look up in the mornings I feel tightness pain in my upper right eyelid and right side firehead ..eye is slow to open.
I went to my Rheumatologist who performed some blood tests and there was some abnormality with my free light chain..kappa FLC. 34 mg/l..normal up to 20 mg.
Found also P- XXXXXXX blood test reactive titre 20 ..suspect Chrones.
The Nuerologist ruled out Myasthenia Gravis... through various tests.
The thing is I dont feel well..chrones is acting up..multiple bathroom visits diahrea titally watery...no control over bowel sometimes. Very fatigued. Another blood test came back with slighly over active thyroid . I had for a few weeks sore tender neck..felt stiff and swollen but that has subsided now. Voice was hoarse also.
Still goes hoarse at times.
I guess we have reached some diagnosis after all this time..sjogrens was eliminated although I still suffer dry mouth..and dry eyes.
Incidently my headaches are always on the right side of my head..and my head often feels like it is sore inside in the right side...my scalp often feels sore also.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again and thanks for asking me directly.
Sorry for the delayed answer mainly because of personal health issues.
I have read your new question and understand your concerns.
If the dropping eyelid follows the headaches that as you refer are always in one side, migraine headaches accompanied by neurological deficits should be considered.
It is a well known fact that migraine may be triggered by some kind of lights.
Issues with your eyes ( dry eyes, sometimes watery eye, etc.) may be related to Crohn's as one of the possible extraintenstinal manifestations, but may be related to allergic reactions as well.
Since the brain MRI in April resulted okay, you should not worry about anything serious related to your brain, balance issues and vertigo may be related to fatigue mainly.
Since the free light chain resulted elevated, kidney function should be assessed, and further blood tests about possible related conditions ( multiple myeloma, etc.).
Hope I provided valuable information about your condition.
Discuss with your Doctor about these issues.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards.
Thank you it has been most helpful.
I notice the headaches are now daily especially at night along with the swaying and dizziness balance issues. In the morning the ptosis of the eyelid and eyebrow is worst and the eyelid and eye are quite tender to touch.
The headache was so bad on Saturday morning I found a Physiotheraptist to try to masage my neck to see if it would assist with the headache. He mentioned to me about needing to have some scans of the blood arteries down both sides of my neck. He was reluctant to attend to any manipulations until he knew what was going on with my neck. I do have calcification in two of my neck vertibras.
He said blood flow might be causing some issues.
I am off to see the Primary Care Doctor tomorrow to inquire if there could be some scans undertaken on my neck.
It is okay to be checked about vessels issues before physical therapy.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back and thanks for being on follow up.
It is okay to be checked about any blood flow issues related to your neck vessels before physical therapy procedures.
However, I think this issue can be assessed with simpler diagnostic tests such Doppler ultrasound of your vessels.
CT scan with i.v. contrast or MRA may be ordered if there is any abnormality evaluated by ultrasound.
If ultrasound turns out normal, you can continue physical therapy.
If cervical conditions such spondylosis, occipital neuralgia, are responsible for the headaches ( even partially ) there should be an improvement after physical therapy.
Hope this helps.
Greetings.
