What Do Persistent Pulsating Sensations In The Ear Suggest?

Question: I don't know what happened since today's morning. I am hearing occasionally pulsing kinda sound in my left ear. It's not continuous. It happening soon after I am swallowing anything or yawning. The sound is lasting for 2-3 pulses with an interval of 4-5 secs and then disappearing and happening once again after 5-10 mins and sometime randomly as well.. What should I do? I don't have any pain/itching in my left ear. Is it something serious?
