What Do Rashes Near The Collarbone And Shoulder Indicate?
Question: I have this rash on the right side of my chest near collarbone and shoulder area. I have no other symptoms (no fever, feel fine, etc) I have had it for 3 days. It doesn't really itch, and it gets more red after I get out of shower. Last week I had a pimple on my throat area, so I put tea tree oil on it and the whole area broke out and got really red. That has cleared up, but this area on my collarbone/chest has not. I did not rub the tea tree oil on my chest/collarbone where the current rash is, but is it possible it's from the tea tree oil anyway since it's near the same area or is is something else more serious? I read about leukemia rash online when I googled and it scared me. Should I wait a few more days or go walk in clinic today? Thanks
Brief Answer:
Acneform eruption, benzoyl peroxide gel or Clindamycin gel
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at Healthcaremagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
It seems to be an an acneform eruption. It doesn't seem to be any rash related to leukaemia.
If I was your treating doctor I would recommend you to apply benzoyl peroxide 5.0 percent gel or Clindamycin gel on the pimples twice daily for 2 weeks.
This should subside them.
