What Does A Large Pink Lump Protruding From The Anus Indicate?

different possible causes
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
(1)If you have an history of hemorrhoids then it may be a 3rd degree hemorrhoid which is a protrusion of the hemorrhoid from the anus.
This is treated initially by a sitz baths is warm water, very high fiber diet and fluids. If it does not respond to this then in office procedures are necessary. If the procedures are not tolerated or wanted then surgery is needed.
(2)If there is no such history then it is possible that it may be a perianal abscess. An abscess is a collection of pus. It can present in a very painful mass.
A few days after presentation the mass softens as it starts to break down inside, pus may then discharge.
It would be best to have it incised and drained by a doctor because even though it bursts, small pockets of pus remain.
Antibiotics would also be needed.
(3) if there is any history of trauma then it could be in response to this trauma and the use of anti inflammatory pain killers would be all that is needed.
Eg ibuprofen, naproxen
This can be used in any of the above to help relieve your pain
Persons may worry about the possibility of cancer but it generally does not present in this way and also cancers are slow growing lesions (would notice area growing over months- years)
There are different possibilities, it would be best diagnosed by inspection and palpation by your doctor
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

if no history of bleeding then unlikely hemorrhoids
Detailed Answer:
HI
If you had hemorrhoids there would be a history of blood on wiping after a bowel movement and also protrusion of a mass after a bowel movement
It is possible then , that is is an abscess which can form in any area, including an a cyst.
Since a lesion is always present, though small, it may be a small cyst that is now infected as an abscess.
This can be determined by examination by your doctor
Please feel free to ask any other questions

Detailed Answer:
HI
If you can see your doctor today or tomorrow so he or she can see you and help relieve the pain, then yes.
If you cannot see for a few days, then you can go to the ER for relief.
I have treated abscesses in office, if this is the case
If anything else unclear, feel free to ask
